$83,000 for new kitchen facilities at the Sicilia Club in Klemzig
Labor Candidate for Sturt, Claire Clutterham, has announced $83,000 in funding to install new commercial grade ovens and replace community dining tables at the Sicilia Sports & Social Club in Klemzig, helping secure the future of the Club.
This investment means that the Sicilia Club can continue putting on community events, promoting the heritage of Sturt’s Italian-Australian community and serving their members.
Claire Clutterham said the investment was a significant win for the Sturt community which has a deep and proud Italian heritage.
“The Sicilia Club is a key feature of the Sturt community and reflects the contribution made by our successful and diverse culture.” Ms. Clutterham said.
“This funding means the Sicilia Club can continue its work delivering community events, promoting their culture and supporting local groups.”
“The Albanese Labor Government is committed to supporting community spaces like the Sicilia Club, and I’m proud to be part of a Labor team that is delivering for Sturt.”
Altavilla Club President Rita Palumbo welcomed the commitment of funding to the Sicilia Club.
Ms Palumbo said “The Sicilia Club is a fantastic community space and this funding means that we can continue holding events and share our culture with the broader community.”
“The Sicilia Club is a place for our community to come together and celebrate our shared heritage. The new ovens will mean we can bring even more people together in the future.”
The investment in the Sicilia Club is part of Labor’s broader commitment to strengthening community infrastructure and supporting local organisations.
